Topic: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Super Qix is one of my favourite arcade games from back then, just saying if someone is looking for a project. wink

What's your favourites?

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Ghouls'n Ghosts is my absolute arcade game ever. But I doubt we will see CPS1 fpga implementations anytime soon.

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

If you ignore qsound for the time being, the CPS1 hardware isn't that different from Neo Geo, and I'm sure I saw a project for that somewhere (you will need a lots of ram for the carts for some of the latest games on that!)

This prompts a question I have been wondering about ... but I think I'll start a new post with that one!

oh, and for the record, my favourite games are Crazy Balloon, Asteroids, Galaxian, Gorf and Marble Madness (I have them all as cabs)

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Phoenix and Defender were my two favourites.  I used to play Snooker in a club that had 12 tables and both of those arcade consoles.

Some of my favourite arcades games:

Toki
Shadow Dancer
Ninja Gaiden (Aka Shadow Warriors)
Extermination

What are the chances of getting a core for any of these?

Marble Madness is absolutely magic! One of my alltime favourites regardless of platform.
The music, the colors, the gameplay, mmmm!

I played Volfied very much. Think I even have it in my jamma pcb collection. smile Bubble bobble is also one of my favorites. And 1942. Guess those three do it for me, in no particular order.

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Too many to really list. Xevious, Gradius, R-Type... :-) I will try to write a core of one of these, at least.

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Btw, I would think the multi game systems like CPS1 would be implemented before single games... I mean, I think hackers would feel more benefits of doing that as it would give loads of games in once. Therefore I think CPS1 games are quite likely to be realized in a future near you.

(...But don't look at me, I'm not doin' it. tongue)

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

Nothing beats GORF on the VIC-20.  It is better than the actual arcade machine version!  wink

Re: Favourite arcade games from back then?

For me Xevious & 1942 are high on my list. I've started on cores for both, but hit snags and got distracted.

I have a bootleg "Xevios" PCB (c) Watson that I bought in a cocktail cabinet, and also the three Xevious games that are included on the Namco Classics Vol 1. PCB. I've got 2 or 3 1942 PCB's but I'm not sure if any of them work atm.

No-one has any love for Vulgus?
