Topic: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Running on an FPGA here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c39E5lhOPTM
I found out about it in a thread on amiga.org here, PM sent, will ask for sources.
Here's the thread btw:

Other games that share the same HW:
- 1943 Kai
- Commando
- Gunsmoke
- Black Tiger
- Side Arms

Hey, those are almost MODERN! wink

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Its really a nice post

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Ever got any sources from this project? Seems he stop working on it sad

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Year - that's a pity. The last post there is already over 6 years old... hmm

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Is anybody still interested in 1943?

I did some work on this a few years ago, got the video working but then lost interest.

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Yes please *2 smile

Yes, please! smile

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Whats the best way to share my source files?

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

put them on github perhaps?

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

github would be nice if you want to make them available for everyone smile

In any case, ask Mike for the svn dev access is probably the best.

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Count me in too, one of my biggest peeves since I got into the FPGA scene is when someone shows off a cool project they've done and then doesn't release the code and eventually the project just dies. The same thing happened with the Gottlieb hardware demoed on qbert.me, it looked just about finished and then silence, no updates in years.

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

I've checked them in. James, I'll mail you.

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Awesome! smile

Is the source code for the 1943 arcade FPGA implementation you got for the version mentioned by the OP in the first post, or is it a completely different implementation?

BTW, does this post mean you are in possession of the source code for Elmar's Mylstar/Gottlieb projects?

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

No, I've got Gloide69's code which needs some attention. I'm trying to sort out everything and move to git, please bear with me while we do this!

I see, thank you for the reply and your hard work! Anyway, in the meantime I have found frenchshark's GitHub (the dev mentioned in the first post here, though there's no 1943 arcade implementation code there), in case someone would like to try contact him. It's worth noting that he also seems to be working on the CPS-1/CPS-2 arcade FPGA implementation behind the scenes.

Re: 1943: The Battle for Midway

Ah ok, thanks for the tip!
