Some time has passed since I played with it. Not really sure whats going on there. All I can say, I had this message once, just after copying stuff on the partition. Then I started over from scratch and it never happened again.

You also find some Google hits on this, like this:

What I would try:
take a second fresh copy of the boot hdf. boot you Workbench with both images attached, do a

> copy source:#? destination: all clone quiet

style copy command to copy all files to the fresh image

<![CDATA[Re: Empty PFS3 hardfile set to start with]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=11489#p11489 @phluxx thanks for this! I have installed wb3.1 on the boot hd, problem though is when booting from the hdf there is an error related to pfs3 data1 partition "Rootblock extension invalid", "Disk update failed". The partition is still usable though. Is there a way to fix this?

<![CDATA[Empty PFS3 hardfile set to start with]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=8643#p8643 I made a pfs3 hardfile set as a clean starting point for Amiga Replay installations.

Partitions are made from scratch, I never copied any files in, so the only content should be the contained PFS3 handler (aio package) -> no copyright issues to expect.

Layout is as follows:

amiga_boot.hdf:
- ~200 MB FFS partition "work", bootable
- ~3800 MB PFS3 partition "data1"

amiga_secondary.hdf:
- ~4000 MB PFS3 partition "data2"

Both files are created with UAE, size set to 4095MB, so this is probably around the most you can get on a FAT file system.
All partitions are formatted and empty, you can just start to copy your files in, install workbench etc.
(I tested that briefly on Replay, everything worked fine.)

PFS3 Buffers are set to 200, this is considered a good choice for big partitions on machines with medium ram size.
(Yes, I know, we have ram, but still, occupying 100KB ram (per disk?) for disk transfers should be enough)

Make sure to use the latest Replay firmware with '4G' fixes!
