<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=9813#p9813 Just adding to this, I'd love to see at least 1 on-board USB header in addition to any USB ports on the back.

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=8234#p8234 I can already use one on my fpga using a teensy and Mike might be able to add native support at some point, but ps/2 for keyboard or mouse is not very future proof. Less and less keyboards are supporting the ps/2 protocol (and amiga ones are getting very expensive).

When you are using a non standard european layout it's getting a bit difficult smile (Just got an US dell keyboard that I intended to use but not ps/2 compatible so stuck with an AZERTY layout sad )

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=8233#p8233 I love the db9 ports as well and i am fine with the ps/2 ports as well.
With an adapter a friend is designing we'll be using amiga 4k/cdtv keyboards on the replay soon! smile

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=8227#p8227 Hey Mike,

is your adapter available? It's getting harder to buy a, good, ps/2 compatible keyboard :-S at least at a decent price.

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=6828#p6828 true that if we can use a USB hub ... smile

USB Mouse and Keyboard would be the big thing anyway

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=6827#p6827 Sure but why? I vote to replace PS2 with USB, but keep DB9 joystick support. If more USB ports are needed add a USB hub or even better add a header for additional ports.

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=6809#p6809 Me too don't get me wrong big_smile But it's seems easier to find a db9 to usb converter than the inverse no?

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=6805#p6805 I love the DB9 for joysticks. Please do not drop them..

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=6803#p6803 my two cents but if next board could be with USB for keyboard/mouse that would be very helpful... There's less and less ps/2 devices around and even some keyboard who should work with a ps/2 adapter just don't work (I tried to used a code keyboard but no luck...)

Also it might be useful to drop the db9 for the joystick as well no? db9 to USB seems easier than the inverse (but could be wrong)

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=5861#p5861 In theory yes, but it's not that easy to replace ..

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=5860#p5860 Thanks good news.

It is easy to find USB keyboard than PS2 Keyboard.

i understand: you can build next REPLAY board with USB for Keyboard and Mice ?
about older board: we can desoldering PS2 and soldering UBS ?

Regards

<![CDATA[Re: USB Mouse and Keyboard Situation]]> http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=5859#p5859 Yup. The on board USB socket is for debug only, no USB keyboard.
I have an adapter for people who really want to use USB mice/keyboards in a case for example, almost finished debug now (it's working).
Note this is a build option only as it fits in place of the PS/2 connector.
